Knowledge Re-test Appointments

This online facility allows you to book a re-test in relation to a previously failed knowledge test.

Please be aware that the initial appointment will be made by a member of the Licensing Team at the time you submit your application.

If you have not yet submitted your initial application for a licence to drive a private hire or hackney carriage vehicle, please visit the Licensing Section on the Council Website.

This online facility will also allow you to check the availability for future appointments.

Making your Appointment

Before making your appointment please be aware that there is a fee payable, the details of which will be shown on the payment screen.

You will need the following information to hand:

• Initial Appointment Reference
  (This reference has previously been provided to you by the Licensing Team)
• Your Email Address
  (This is the email address used at the time of your application)
• Test Type
  (The Licensing Team will have advised you which type of test you need to book. Please ensure you select the correct type as failure to do so could lead to you being unable to complete your test)

You can only book a re-test for the same area of the Borough and licence type as your previous test.

Cancel of Change an Appointment

To cancel or change an appointment that has already been booked please contact the Licensing Team at your earliest convenience.

All appointments must be cancelled or changed a minimum of 24 hours in advance, not including weekends and bank holidays. Failure to do so could incur additional costs.
